RealTimes blends together the functionality you would expect to get from a media player with the functionality you would expect to get from a cloud client and with the functionality you would expect to get from a video editing tool. Here’s what I mean:

Media player – RealTimes will play your videos, images, CDs and DVDs, will help you manage your collection of media files, will help you access online videos, will provide easy access to media playback controls.
Cloud client – sign up or sing into your RealPlayer Cloud account and you’ll be able to upload media to the cloud and share media with others. RealTimes comes with 2GBof cloud storage for free.
Video editing tool – RealTimes has a Story feature that blends together images, videos, transition effects and an audio soundtrack to create engaging videos that can be shared with others. RealTimes Story generates 30-second long videos for free.

RealTimes is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, Android, iOS, and more. Focusing on Windows alone, I have to say that installing RealTimes on a PC is a straightforward matter. After all, all you have to do is follow the instructions presented onscreen by a setup wizard. Watch the Quick Look video that accompanies this article to see how easy it is to install RealTimes on a Windows PC.

Three buttons are presented at the top on RealTimes’ interface:
Now Playing – this is where you can watch videos, images, CDs or DVDs.
PC & Cloud Library – manage your local media and access the media stored in the cloud.
Web Videos – from here you can manage your media collection, your playlists, your stories, the items you uploaded to the cloud, and so on.
Web Videos – I don’t think this one needs a presentation.

First there was RealPlayer, a properly good media player from RealNetworks. When cloud functionality was added to the mix, RealNetworks launched RealPlayer Cloud. And after revamping and enhancing its product, it released RealTimes to the public.

Pros

RealTimes is available for multiple platforms; you can use it on your desktop and on your mobile. Easily sign up for a RealTimes account (log in with your existing RealPlayer Cloud account if you have one). The interface is user friendly. RealTimes provides support for lots of media formats. RealTimes can upload media to the cloud and share media with others. RealTimes Story can automatically generate engaging videos.

Cons

The setup wizard wants to install additional software. Some of the software's functionality is reserved for the paid accounts (see here).
